Factory License

A factory license is a legal document issued by the government to a factory owner, authorizing them to operate a factory in accordance with the Factories Act, 1948. The license is granted after the factory inspector has inspected the factory and is satisfied that it meets all the safety and health requirements prescribed under the Act. The factory license is a mandatory requirement for all factories in India, regardless of their size or the type of industry they operate in. The license is valid for a period of five years and must be renewed before the expiry date.

1. Form No 2 (downloaded/digitally signed by occupier and manager)
2. Supporting documents for the occupation of premises (Sale deed / Lease deed / Rental deed, etc.)
3. Proof for Occupier Identity
4. Proof for Occupier Address
5. Copy of Memorandum and Articles of Association under the Companies Act / Partnership Deed
6. List of Directors or Partners, as applicable
7. List of Machinery with Horsepower Details
8. NOC from the Fire Department
9. NOC from the Pollution Control Board

To Obtain a Factory License:

1. Download the Application Form: You can download the application form from the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH) website.
2. Fill up the Application Form: Be sure to fill up all the required information accurately.
3. Attach the Required Documents: Compile all the necessary supporting documents as specified in the application guidelines.
4. Submit the Application: Deliver the completed application form along with the supporting documents to the local DISH ( Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health) office in your district.
5. Factory Inspection: The DISH office will inspect your factory and verify that it meets all the safety and health requirements. Make any necessary adjustments based on their recommendations.
6. License Issuance: Once the DISH office is satisfied, they will issue you a factory license, allowing you to legally operate your factory.

The processing time for a factory license in Tamil Nadu is typically 30 days, from the date of submission of the application form and all required documents. However, the actual time may vary depending on the complexity of the case and the workload of the DISH office
